Less than a year since taking his post as Chief Creative Officer of Calvin Klein, Raf Simons unveiled his vision with Calvin Klein’s fall-winter 2017 collection. This follows the release of a new campaign and a made-to-measure collection. Shown on the second day of New York Fashion Week, the designs paid homage to America. “It reflects the environment,” Simons says in an official statement. “All of these different people with different styles and dress codes. It’s the future, the past, Art Deco, the city, the American West…all of these things and none of these things.”

The collection was indeed eclectic. Simons opened the show with workwear shirts and high-waist trousers in bold color choices. He then focused on relaxed suit separates including boxy jackets. Leather jackets brought a sense of cool to the lineup while floral patterns exuded vintage vibes. Simons also played with sheer material, sending sweaters down the runway with puffy sleeves and see-through fronts. But what were the ultimate highlights? Feathered midi dresses covered in plastic as well as a yellow fur coat worn by Julia Nobis.
