On not being a “pretty” model:
“I didn’t want to be ‘that pretty model, blah blah blah.’ I wanted to be ‘that tattooed tough chick.’”
On being a mom and model:
“It’s a wonderful job [motherhood], because it’s so flexible. I’ve done some jobs where people are maybe rolling their eyes if I have to go pump again, but most of the time people are pretty great.”
On the changing industry perceptions of youth:
“The stylists that I kind of grew up with have now become the editors of magazines, and I think they appreciate those of us who are still modelling … With age comes – hopefully – some maturity and wisdom. Many women don’t want to see clothes or makeup on girls that haven’t had that many experiences yet.”
