Liu Wen heads to the streets on the September 1, 2016 cover of The Edit from Net-a-Porter. The Chinese model wears a dynamic look from Balenciaga’s fall collection including a puffer jacket, grey sweater and slim-fit pants. Inside the magazine, Liu poses for Jason Kibbler wearing statement jackets and knitwear from top brands. Stylist Patrick Mackie selects the designs of Tomas Maier, Gucci, Proenza Schouler and more.
In her interview, Liu talks about the rise of Asian models in fashion. “It’s through diligence that each of us can represent our culture, our gender – whichever parts of our identity – in the best way. To me, today’s [young] Asian women are working hard to pursue their ideals,” she says. “We have already made a lot of progress thanks to the toil of our mothers and grandmothers, and we should desire even better for generations to come.”
