What if someone told you that the gaming industry is inspiring the fashion industry? It will be shocking at first, but when you see a brand like Louis Vuitton announced that Lightning, one of the heroines of the widely popular game Final Fantasy 13, will be the new face of its spring clothing line, you need to take the news seriously.

Game characters inspiring the fashion world

According to Mypaperdone.com experts, the gaming industry has come a long way in inspiring the fashion industry. It started with silkscreen depictions of the popular PC game characters on t-shirts and hoodies. But this was only limited to the ones who loved gaming. However, as video games grew in popularity, the graphics also changed radically.

Now, high-style brands are connecting with game developers to discuss the possible apparels that can make the characters look stylish so that they incorporate the same in their seasonal collections.

This has also increased the number of gamers in the industry. With sites like freegamepick that allow users to access a ton of games, there’s no shortage of inspiration for a new outfit or style.

Earlier in the day when the gaming industry first started merchandising, it only had a few limited t-shirts. It was not very evident from the popularity that the gaming industry can influence the fashion world at all. But a few years down the line, the scenario has changed. Thousands of real-world stylists now follow different games for inspiration to design their following collection.

Amanda Erickson, the founder of Closet to Console blog mentioned that the collaboration between the two industries would only flourish each other. It will not only bring out new ideas but also new products that will benefit both the gaming and the fashion industry.

Fashion meets gaming

The digital space inspires many modern dresses of celebrities. In the recent Met Gala, Kim Kardashian sported a chrome-emblazoned Balmain gown that made her look like a ruler from some futuristic galaxy. This is proof that even celebrities are not holding back when it comes to trying outfits that you usually see in sci-fi games.

Also, Zayn Malik, one of the members of One Direction, sported a black Versace suit with bionic arms resembling the popular character Jax from the game Mortal Kombat. Speaking to one of the news reporters, Zayn Malik said that his love for the game made him choose the design as he wanted to try something that made him look more of a virtual character.

But just as games are influencing the fashion world, fashion designers are also influencing the game developers too. There is mutual admiration between the two industries that are enabling the gamers to get the best of both worlds.

In 2013, Kim Kardashian Hollywood, one of the popular mobile games back then, reached more than 45 million downloads where her real-world high-end clothing served as the game’s primary mechanic. From hairstyles and clothing to accessories and makeup, everything was handpicked by Kim Kardashian that the game developers incorporated in the game successfully.

There is no doubt that both the gaming and the fashion industry will continue to grow if they have a mutual admiration. With more celebrities trying out outfits that are displayed in popular video games, it is also opening doors for the common man to try these apparels without a second thought of looking out of place among their peers.
