A look from DSquared2’s fall-winter 2016 collection

A clash of two cultures. It was a familiar theme for DSquared2’s Dan and Dean Caten who presented their fall-winter 2016 collection on the last day of Milan Fashion Week. Similar to autumn ’15 which was American Indian influenced, the Canadian designers focused on Victorian meets samurai with a spotlight on military themes.

As a warrior, the DSquared2 woman wore camouflage prints, cropped admiral jackets and samurai inspired furs cuts with intarsia in armor-like blocks. Underneath each look was a printed bodysuit that at first glance looks like tattoo sleeves. Softening the warrior look, A-line skirts, sequined bibs and capelets are added. A tasselled earring and beaded stiletto sandals serve as the finishing touches.
