Stella McCartney’s fall 2011 outing embraced minimal luxury. With experimentation found in shapes and proportion, models took the runway with puffed up sleeves, dot motifs and abstract patterns. The highlight of the show included a finale of form-fitting black dresses with asymmetrical cut-outs for a story of contrast as the voluminous shapes were followed by tight silhouettes.

  1. I have never been more horrified by a collection in my life. So many unflattering pieces, its astounding. Those gold monstrocities are the ugliest things ive ever seen in my life. Im all for oversized coats and cardigans, but Stella just pushed it overboard. Since im a huge fan of her minimalism, this is HUGE disappointment.

  2. This collection would have been great if it wasn’t made for women with gigantic football player shoulders… Nothing fits properly…

Also, has anyone noticed how purple Sigrid’s hands are? I’ve noticed it before, but here they look really scary here.

  4. I love Stella, and after this I’m just… sad, very sad.
There are cool pieces, but the whole collections is a mistake.

  8. What was the logic behind the jackets, besides making the wearer ‘s body seem freakishly disproportionate, that is?
That gold print is quite awful as well. And the shoes. and that stiff golden fabric with large sleeves that end at the elbow.
    Just bad, and borderline scary.
