Going for a romantic approach with his fall 2011 collection, designer Prabal Gurung took to the runway with his own version of evening wear for the third day of New York Fashion Week. From seductive reds and lavenders to severe white and black, Gurung seemed to hit all the right notes with lace detailing, leather accents and cinched waists on relaxed silhouettes.

  1. I love Prabal Gurung it did hit all my right notes with lace detailing and leather accents!!! I love the bondage tights and I regret I did not buy them from Wolford this winter…They look amazing! I will check out tomorrow if they still have them…

  3. Some really beautiful pieces, as well as few pieces which make me question the definition of “romantic”. For example, the second photo which shows a dress with huge fur arms and skirt, doesn’t exactly scream “Happy Valentines Day!”

    Although if you could find a man who would look at a girl wearing that dress and say with a straight face, “Wow, I think I’m falling in love with you, from the top of your head to your gorilla biceps to your toes,” then I think you should hang on to him.

    No, I kid (mostly). There really are a some amazing pieces in here that I would absolutely love to have in my closet. And I even must say I like the ribbon-eque tights that they models are wearing!

I love the combination of rock and romance, including light & airy chiffon, elegnat black lace print & leather weave & butterfly tie & belt and glove, cool jacket and delicate sweater…etc. And the Most favoriate are the 8th & 9th looks of the 1st page, the last 4 looks of the 2nd page, the 1st 3rd 4nd 7nd looks of the 3rd page, and the 6th 7th 10th looks of the 4th page.

  5. Hair and makeup are just tragic. Karlie looks old and washed up.

    As far as clothes are concerned, they are quite beautiful and such a different tone from Spring 2011, very dark and edgy, but still feminine with those fitted coats and flowy dresses.
