Kendall Jenner is the face of Estee Lauder, has appeared in Vogue and even can do a pretty sexy Santa impersonation. But, it turns out that one model named Arisce Wanzer is not a fan of Ms. Jenner. Wanzer wrote a thought piece for The Blot. In the piece, she compares Kendall Jenner’s career trajectory to those models who come from a “small town and/or Third-World country”. She writes of how they, unlike Kendall, would owe their agency money trying to book gigs, or have to “kill” themselves going to castings.
In this hypothetical situation, she places a no-name model backstage at the Marc Jacobs show where they see Kendall before she made her first foray into high fashion. But Wanzer is not just throwing her daggers at Kendall. She calls out fashion as a whole, writing, “One by one like dominos from Vogue to Givenchy, fashion is selling out to the ignorant masses for money. What happened to the art, the cerebral part of fashion? Did it really all die with Alexander McQueen?”
Further in the letter, she says that fashion houses have sold their souls and dignity and that their “image will be forever tarnished by these real life Veruca Salts buying their way in with sleazy fame rights”.

I completely agree with her. It’s all about desperate moves from the fashion houses taking the easy way hiring her to save themselves economically. I have myself too, lost respect.

Actually I just googled the girl, Arisce, to find out that, although a model, she is a rather ugly one. She doesn’t have much chance with or without Kendall in the fashion industry. And no, it’s not about selling out. Kendall, like her entire family is a brand. I may not stand for all they represent, but they, together with Tv and celebrity industry have built that name and brand, and if Chanel under Lagerfeld (strong credentials) and Givanchy under Tisci, or Mark Jacobs or Estee Lauder want a piece of that cake, why the hell not. I’d maybe be shocked if they used Kim, who clearly isn’t model material. But this girl is beautiful and model like, so why not? I don’t mind her face gracing products I’d like to buy. People need to stop hating on other beautiful and succesful individuals, pronto.
I don’t agree. It totally sounds like this young woman is envious. Kendall is the only one in her entire family who seems to be the most “reserved” of the bunch. She has the height. She takes beautiful photographs. Who cares really. People will buy magazines with her face on it. People will buy things associated with this young woman. She is earning her right to be a model. Models sell a brand. That’s their job. She is doing it well. She is improving as a model. The haters will hate….to quote Taylor Swift.
absolutely true, what hard work did she do to get all these contracts from popular fashion houses and cosmetics lines? No hard work unlike other well known models like karlie,kate,gisele, and behaiti they had to practically sell themselves and “sell their souls” to get to the top shows, photo shoots, and houses that takes years! sometimes getting lucky but that’s only by a very rare chance. Unlike she Kendall comes from a family of wealth not having to work a day in her life well except for now if that is?! Does that justify why companies should support her incentive only because there’s a private commission from the family to the company and because of her families status?
It’s true for these people is a dream come true , they feel proud of their achievements. When someone became the face of a line so fast and easily it removes the trust and worth to their carreers us not about Kendall, it’s about the cheap way these big name companies are behaving.
Although there is some truth to the matter, it is blatantly obvious that envy played a great role in her saying these things. I am not going to defend Kendall and her family even less, but the girl has the face and the body. Sure, it can be argued that her background gave her more opportunities than the rest -sadly money is key in this world – but seeing her walk the catwalk was pretty good. I like her as a model.
BS, the catwalk is a marketing exercise and is bigger than any model’s journey to get there. The designers are there to sell clothes and if putting a Jenner on the catwalk help then they’ll do it. If the fashion houses go bust then high fashion will die. Fashion Weeks are about selling clothes first; only the fashion geeks care about the models.
At least they don’t parade ol horseface around the way American Vogue does.

Arisce Wanzer is a transgender model (and not a very pretty one) trying to use the Kardashian name to get noticed and propel “herself’ into the fashion industry . . . ironically isn’t that exactly what she is accusing Kendal Jenner of doing?
Kendal is a beautifal young girl with the height and credentials of a successful model it entails . That other person who is trying to make it is just plain ugly it doesnt have what it takes to be called a model not even close so the transgender person needs to pack it up accept it and get a real job period
