Preliminary numbers for Kimye’s Vogue cover have been released and according to The NY Post, it sold under expectations. While previous cover stars like Beyonce and First Lady Michelle Obama sold 355,000 and 269,000 respectively, Josh Gary, vice president at Mag Net Data, predicts that the amount of the Kim Kardashian and Kanye West cover will come in at only 250,000 issues when a number of between 300,000 to 400,000 was originally predicted. The cover certainly had its share of controversy with multiple celebrities weighing in and readers threatening to cancel subscriptions. Regardless of the numbers though, it seems to not have affected the couple’s ties to fashion. The two attended the 2014 Met Gala earlier this week which was hosted by Vogue’s editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, wearing Lanvin and snapping pictures with designers like Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing.
