After four years at the helm, Hedi Slimane is leaving his post as creative director of Saint Laurent. With rumors in the air for several months now, it was finally confirmed today via WWD. The French designer is known for dropping Yves from the brand’s name, as well as taking creative control of the brand campaigns and his rock and roll inspire designs. Slimane recently showcased his final collections for the brand with the Palladium collection shown in Los Angeles and a couture line presented during Paris Fashion Week.

According to the news site, Slimane’s successor will be Belgian designer Anthony Vaccarello whose namesake label is known for its sexy, body conscious silhouettes. Vaccarello also works as creative director for the Versus Versace brand.
