When it comes to flowers, Giambattista Valli is no stranger to featuring blooms in his designs, but with his spring 2016 haute couture showing, it came with an emotional connection. After the November terrorist attacks in Paris, the Italian designer created this collection as a thank you to the City of Light. Valli found inspiration from famous Parisian gardens including the Tuileries, Jardin du Luxembourg and Parc de Bagatelle.

Appliquéd mini dresses transformed into high-low hemlines as well as ruffle adorned sleeves. Besides the flowers, sixties inspired silhouettes stood out with A-line dresses and capelets adorning a few looks. For his finale gowns, Valli looked to an empire silhouette–absolute show-stoppers with voluminous pleating.
