Balmain Offers Luxe Monochrome for Spring 2018

Joanna Elizabeth / Published September 28, 2017

Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing celebrates five years at the helm of the French label. For the brand’s spring-summer 2018 runway show, the presentation was held at the Paris Opera. The collection featured mostly black and white looks full of texture and volume. From ruffle-trimmed skirts to boxy leather jackets and fringe embellishments, the looks exuded pure glamour.

The Balmain logo also decorated shirts and sweatshirts. For the final section of the presentation, Rousteing injected some color with patchwork dresses and body-con silhouettes decorated with feathers and mesh. The Balmain army included a number of top models this season such as Alessandra Ambrosio, Natalia Vodianova and Karolina Kurkova.
