For Maison Margiela’s spring-summer 2016 collection, John Galliano focused on 1950s inspired daywear paired with sci-fi touches for a truly surreal outing. Models wore their hair in messy beehives as well as ultra-teased, ‘Bride of Frankenstein’ waves. Coats accented by leopard print collars made way for midi length skirts embellished with broken mirror appliqué while gloves were paired for a ladylike effect. At look twenty, Galliano switched gears for Japanese inspired kimono numbers tied at the waist and bust with his own version of the obi sash. When the models turned, boxy bags were attached to their backs with thick ties.
