American Vogue’s May 2009 cover will feature the industry’s “top models”. Past issues have included Claudia Schiffer, Karen Elson and Gisele Bündchen. Who are the nine girls we can expect to see this year?

Model: Anna Jagodzinska
Age: 21
Nationality: Polish
Facts: Made a comeback in spring/summer 2009 season after taking a break from modeling. Landed campaigns for Chanel, CK Jeans and Chloe.

Model: Caroline Trentini
Age: 21
Nationality: Brazilian
Facts: A Vogue US favorite. She appeared as an Yves Saint Laurent exclusive for fall/winter.

Model: Isabeli Fontana
Age: 25
Nationality: Brazilian
Facts: Hot mama who can be seen in the Missoni campaign with Natasha Poly. She also appeared on the cover of Vogue US for the 2004 issue.

Model: Jourdan Dunn
Age: 18
Nationality: English
Facts: Covered Vogue Italia’s all black issue and i-D’s “British issue”. Also one the few black models to walk for Prada in recent memory.

Model: Lara Stone
Age: 25
Nationality: Dutch
Facts: A Vogue Paris Favorite. Known for being nude in editorials. Recently seen in the Jean Paul Gaultier and Hugo Boss Orange campaigns.

Model: Liya Kebede
Age: 31
Nationality: Ethiopian
Facts: This veteran was also on the 2004 cover of the model issue.

Model: Natalia Vodianova
Age: 27
Nationality: Russian
Facts: Known as an editorial queen and the face of Calvin Klein. Last walked in spring/summer 2009.

Model: Natasha Poly
Age: 23
Nationality: Russian
Facts: You can see her in ads for Calvin Klein Jeans and Missoni. She is known for dominating the runway.

Model: Raquel Zimmermann
Age: 25
Nationality: Brazilian
Facts: Has been working as a model since 2000 and always has a strong presence on the runway. Look for her in Vogue US, you’ll see her often.

I`m really disappointed I mean there are fresher faces in the model industry that are really hitting the scence, of course those models are awesome and really know how to do their job but they are veterans, What i liked about this issue is that they announces the next super models, and these girl already are. What about Toni Garrn or Maryna Linchuk??

    • It seems like all of them (except Lara Stone) are Vogue US favorites or have at least appeared in Vogue a few times before. I would have loved to see Maryna in there though.
