Hello Kitty – For Oyster’s 100th issue, photographer Colin Dodgson lenses this whimsical editorial nod to Japanese street fashion. Merging playful props with a mix of colorful, patterned selects, creative director Stevie Dance creates an air of laid-back, languid style using selects from the likes of Proenza Schouler, Miu Miu, Hermès, Reebok, Mary Katrantzou, Rag & Bones, Acne, Haider Ackermann, Jason Wu, and Chanel. Model Maria Palm perfectly possesses a sedate, almost hypnotic mood with some help from undone hair and make-up by Tuan Anh Tran and Chiho Omae.

  1. I keep waiting for the second photo to finish loading, yet soon realize that is how it has been either shot or cropped. Irritating. Model is great and conceptually it’s compelling and yet questionable. I want to know WHY they made such choices like capturing her mid blink to evoke a druggie persona? Or am I getting it wrong? Why the beer in almost every shot? What is that adding to the clothing?
