In order to shoot model Julia Valimaki for the most recent edition of Saga magazine, it appears that photographer Lasse Bak Mejlvang had to get creative. From polaroids on clotheslines to even stuffed animals, Julia’s photos can be found in the most unlikeliest of places. Styled by Vibe Dabelsteen in a luxe combination of furs and lingerie, Julia gets an optimal amount of the limelight in “Helsinki”.

  1. at what point are we going to start understanding that 'referncing' another photographer isn't necessarily a 'copy'? i'm quite sure the photographer is aware of their allusion and probably imagines that at least a portion of the audience will understand as well.

  3. MKL: that would make sense if this photographer mentioned in the beginning of the spread that he took inspiration from Bourdin. If there is no note of this then how are we supposed to know that he wasn't just trying to fool the viewer into thinking that these are his original ideas?
