Tisci CoutureGivenchy designer Riccardo Tisci created a dark outing for the label’s spring 2012 haute couture show. Models including Natasha Poly, Kristen McMenamy and Saskia de Brauw wore oversize bullrings and earrings which also made an appearance in Givenchy’s menswear show earlier this month. These unusual accessories bring a certain harshness to the ten couture looks made of crocodile scales, leather and hand beaded crystals. Despite the change from last season’s ethereal gowns of ivory, Tisci managed to create an enchanting collection that was a cross between punk rocker and turn of the century glamour girl.

  1. This is one of the few Givenchy couture collections that has not wowed me, I was so excited to see it and now I feel dissatisfied.  Maybe it will grow on me?

  2. Wow is right a touch of Alexander Mqueen dare I say it but with Ricardo’s personal touch really talented!!!!! “BRAVO “

  3. i am sorry as much as i admire the work at Givenchy, and their keen attention to detail, I cannot take this collection seriously with that basketball in the middle and all of that going on around the lips! the dresses and the details are gorgeous of course, I just wish I could see it without getting distracted with the nonsense.

  4. I feel like Riccardo Tisci is just trying to be weird for the sake of being weird.  I wish we could see those bull rings a bit closer up – in these pictures they look like pacifiers.
