Curtsy while you’re thinking, it saves time – Gracing yet another spring cover, Daphne Groeneveld stars in the latest issue of i-D with Richard Bush’s (Trouble Management) pioneer themed story. Garbed in layers of long jackets and skirts styled by Sarah Richardson, Daphne hits the studio and rugged outdoors wearing standout pieces from Balenciaga, Jean Paul Gaultier, Pringle of Scotland and Mulberry amongst others. On beauty are makeup artist Mathias van Hooff with bronzed skin and hair stylist Karin Bigler with tousled locks. / Casting by Barbara Nicoli & Leila Ananna @ Trouble Management

  1. I REALLY really do not get all the hype about Daphne Groeneveld. The only thing they like about her are her lips (hello, we already have Lindsey Wixson!) and her hair (duh, Abbey Lee!). She annoys me.

    • Nah, it’s not really her lips and hair; I would say what draws me most to her actually is her entire face. It’s very different–interestingly proportioned and placed. That’s what unique about her; screw the lips and hair, I don’t know why people bring that up.

  2. I really get tired of all these models with blonde hair, HUGE lips, and gaps in their teeth. They are all the same (Lindsey Wixson, Lara Stone, Abbey Lee, Georgia May Jagger, etc.). Nothing unique about them whatsoever. It’s like the modeling companies who pick them say “Okay, get all the blonde, big-lipped, gap-toothed girls and get rid of the rest.” The modeling world needs something new.
