Balenciaga Fall 2014–With his third runway show at the helm of Balenciaga, Alexander Wang continues to infuse a sportswear leaning into the label’s fall-winter 2014 collection. The silhouette for the new season is streamlined with a focus on outerwear including fisherman inspired jackets and sweaters featuring utilitarian zippers and hooks. Sweaters and coats with bold neon accents definitely showed Wang’s influence. Handbags for fall come in the shape of typical shopping bags, but the materials are far from typical. Luxe crocodile and leather finishes cover mini and large versions in colorful and neutral hues.
On the Vine–Following up a preview last week, Balenciaga has released even more images from its spring-summer 2014 campaign featuring Daria Werbowy. The advertisements, photographed by Steven Klein, include twisty veins for a somber mood. Daria wears a white blonde coif to go with the season’s structural designs and sheer finishes. Balenciaga Sleek – Leading model Daria Werbowy sports platinum blonde tresses for the spring-summer 2014 campaign from Balenciaga. The Canadian beauty, who recently appeared on the February cover of Harper’s Bazaar, poses for Steven Klein wearing a pink silk gazer “Winged” dress, and leather top and matching skirt designed by Alexander Wang. Jacob K worked as stylist for the new advertisements with hair by Paul Hanlon and makeup by Diane Kendal.
Balenciaga Pre-Fall 2014 – For Balenciaga’s pre-fall 2014 collection, Alexander Wang looks to the brand’s heritage with structured silhouettes paired with his own sportswear influenced aesthetic. A muted color palette of black, white and gray shows off the season’s sleek lines with cocoon-like shapes. Outerwear for the new season includes wool jackets with winged details and grid-like outlines. For evening wear, Wang designed a black silk gown for an homage to founder Cristobal Balenciaga’s restraint.
Kristen for Rosabotanica – Reprising her role as a face of Balenciaga scents, actress Kristen Stewart poses in a new campaign for the label’s “Rosabotanica” fragrance. Captured by Craig McDean, the starlet poses topless in black and white with a flower vine and the bottle in vibrant technicolor. The new scent goes on sale on January 29th. Throwback Balenciaga – Top models Freja Beha Erichsen and Raquel Zimmermann starred in the fall 2005 campaign from Balenciaga. Photographed by David Sims, the duo posed in a series of black and white studio images wearing sleek and embellished looks designed by Nicolas Ghesquière. Freja would later go on to appear in the spring 2006 and than the fall 2010 advertisements from Balenciaga.
Emma in Balenciaga – Actress Emma Watson attended the 2013 GQ Men of the Year Awards held yesterday in London, wearing a midriff baring look from Balenciaga. The star opted for a cropped white top and black pants from the label’s resort 2014 collection as well as shoes from the brand.
Kristen for Balenciaga, Take Two – Following up the original ad for Balenciaga’s “Florabotanica” fragrance, actress Kristen Stewart shows off a more romantic side in this new image promoting the scent. The dark-haired beauty poses for Craig McDean in black and white, baring all save for a colorful floral accessory with a seductive gaze.
Le Dix Bag – Earlier this month we shared a peek at the new “Le Dix” handbag collection from Balenciaga, and now here is a look at the Black Calfskin Cartable in motion with a new film directed by Toby McFarlan Pond. This marks Alexander Wang’s first handbag collection for the Parisian label. The name, which is French for ten, alludes to the fashion house’s original address at 10 Avenue George V and the handbag having the “perfect ten” in terms of craftsmanship.

Le Dix – As the new creative director of Balenciaga, Alexander Wang unveiled a mysterious fall campaign, and now we get to see the first handbag line from the designer. Titled “Le Dix”, the fall 2013 collection of accessories is sleek, understated and simple. Wang looked towards the brand’s archives for inspiration, with the “Le Dix” name reflecting the house’s first fragrance and the original Balenciaga salon on 10 Avenue George V. Prices for the line start at $995.00 and go up to $2,250.00 for the largest size.
