Emma in Saint Laurent–Actress Emma Stone continued the press tour for her upcoming film “The Amazing Spider-Man 2: The Rise of Electro”, and took on the menswear inspired trend on at a London photocell held earlier today. The redhead star wore a checkered Saint Laurent suit with boxy shoulders and a skinny pant leg style. Emma kept her hair and makeup sleek and feminine to go with the mannish style.
Saint Laurent Pre-Fall 2014 Girl–Following up her exclusive booking for Saint Laurent’s fall show, Grace Hartzel appears in the brand’s pre-fall 2014 lookbook slash campaign photographed by creative director Hedi Slimane. The brunette fits into Slimane’s aesthetic of slim-fit, rock and roll designs that has been prominent during his term at the French fashion house. For the pre-fall season, there are leather embellished pieces, fur, menswear inspired suiting and metallic accents. Photographed in black and white, Grace gets moody in the tailored looks. Kate Wears Saint Laurent–While we’re used to seeing supermodel Kate Moss show off a rock and roll cool vibe in her candid side, it’s nice to see her switch it up. The British beauty wore a long fuchsia-colored Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane gown to the 2014 amfAR’s Inspiration Gala held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on April 4th looking seventies glam. Kate made the appearance, fresh off her recent Harper’s Bazaar US cover where she is promoting her upcoming Topshop line.
Abbey Lee for Saint Laurent–Abbey Lee Kershaw has been pretty quiet on the modeling front since her last appearance for the Gucci fall 2013 advertisements, but the Australian beauty is back for spring 2014 with these new eyewear ads for Saint Laurent. The blonde model posed for creative director Hedi Slimane in a pair of black and white portraits (above) where she dons the new optical styles. FYI, this is Abbey Lee’s very first campaign for the brand.
Saint Laurent Fall 2014–Following a season of grunge and then one with eighties rocker influence, Saint Laurent’s Hedi Slimane looked to the sixties mod movement for the brand’s fall-winter 2014 collection presented during Paris Fashion Week this Monday. Of the era’s signatures, there are A-line skirts, mini shift dresses as well as a modern take on the swing coat in moody plaids. Outerwear is cut slim for the most part while the Saint Laurent girl wears either a Mary Jane or knee-high boot on her feet. As with the spring, shimmer is an important feature of the lineup whether with metallic silver boots or shiny paillette embroidered dresses.
Saint Laurent’s New Blood – For Saint Laurent’s spring-summer 2014 campaign, creative director Hedi Slimane tapped a cast of new faces. While last season, Saint Laurent got model of the moment Cara Delevingne as its star, this season Slimane photographed models Natalie Westling and Nastya Sten, and Jeff Fribourg for the mens campaign in Los Angeles, California. The images are in black and white and also accompany a video set to the tunes of “Teenage Girls” by Cherry Glazerr.
Two Times a Charm – British model Cara Delevingne lands her second Vogue UK cover for the magazine’s January 2014 edition. On the cover Cara wears a black tuxedo jacket, animal print shirt and leather pants designed for Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane. The new issue of Vogue hits stores on December 9th in the UK.
Saint Laurent: Rock Spring – If last season was Hedi Slimane’s grunge collection, the spring 2014 season for Saint Laurent can be dubbed the French fashion house’s eighties moment. The designer referenced power dressing style with boxy cut jackets, menswear inspired suits paired with skinny ties and form-fitting leather skirts. The Le Smoking Jacket which the Saint Laurent name is famous for was incorporated in a rock and roll style, worn with skinny pants and sheer shirts. Dresses featured Paris Fashion Week’s metallic trend; finished with one shoulder in a dramatic and voluminous fashion. With his third runway show, Slimane’s vision for Saint Laurent is proving to be all about the cool factor and youthful style.
Angelina in Saint Laurent, Take Two – Saint Laurent is quickly becoming a favorite of American actress Angelina Jolie. The brunette wore the label to the London premiere of “World War Z” and has worn it once again for the film’s Tokyo event held on July 29th. Jolie supported her partner Brad Pitt at the premiere, wearing a black one shoulder dress from Saint Laurent as well as shoes from the brand.
