Smart & Beautiful–Gracing the May cover of ASOS Magazine, Victoria’s Secret model Lyndsey Scott wears spring pastels and feminine shapes for the British retailer’s monthly publication. The beauty has walked the VS runway and also works as a computer programmer. Inside the issue, Lyndsey opens up about geek stereotypes, working for the lingerie brand and going to the same school as Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o.
On the difference between modeling and programming:
“I have trouble endorsing modeling as a career…I love it so much but you basically have to be a genetic freak in order to do it and most people aren’t. Some of the most beautiful girls I’ve ever seen in my life don’t get lucky. It’s the sort of career where you have absolutely no control, whereas you have complete control with programming, which I really appreciate it.”
Whoa Zoe–Actress, singer and It girl Zoë Kravitz graces the April cover of ASOS Magazine, wearing eye-catching prints from the British retailer. Ben Sullivan photographs Zoe while Zeba Lowe styles her in the hottest spring trends. In the magazine, she opens up about being friends with Jennifer Lawrence, her personal style and working on the movie “Divergent”.
On her friend Jennifer Lawrence’s second Oscar nomination:
“I texted Jen…I was like ‘Really?!’…she texted back, ‘I know people are going to think I’m sleeping with one of the Academy or something.’ But when it’s people you know getting nominated for Oscars, it’s like, wow, my generation’s here now, we’re being paid attention to.”
Nature Girl – Film’s favorite girl Hailee Steinfeld poses in ASOS’ autumn trends for the latest edition of ASOS Magazine. Lensed by photographer Michael Hauptman, the brunette babe dons a black coat, t-shirts, skinny trousers and ankle boots perfect for an adventurous wanderer. As the star of the upcoming “Romeo & Juliet” film adaptation, Hailee talks about her love of fashion, “Fashion is something I’ve always been interested in…I used to watch the Oscars but paid no attention to the awards…It wasn’t until I started attending red carpet events and was flown out to Paris for my first show, and saw how much is put into it all, that I had this new appreciation for everything. Now it’s become a huge part of my life.”
Brit – Actress, writer and producer Brit Marling appears in the September issue of ASOS Magazine, wearing street style looks. The blonde was photographed by Ben Morris on a basketball court wearing a mix of flannel, denim and casual tees from the UK-based retailer. Inside the magazine, Brit opens up about the lack of substantial roles for women in Hollywood, “I don’t go to the cinema often and think, ‘Wow, that’s what a woman is like,’…Usually I’m just like ‘She looks good.’ But I feel like women in my life are smart and sexy and interesting and engaging. There are so many great young actresses to play roles like that, but so few of those roles that everyone is in competition for.”
Breakout Star – Talented young actress Shailene Woodley playfully covers the June issue of ASOS Magazine in cat-eye sunglasses and roller skates. Basking in the laid-back sunshine of an L.A. suburb, Jason Nocito captures the Golden Globe nominee wearing cheerful lace, silk and denim pieces.
