Lee Daniels Fairytale Theater–For the spring-summer issue of CR Fashion Book, the magazine continues to look at fairy tales with a story starring top model Joan Smalls and actor on the rise, Michael B. Jordan. The pair pose for director Lee Daniels (known for “The Butler”) in his first ever fashion editorial featuring a modern reinterpretation of notable fairy tales. Jahl Fischer and Paolo Nieddu style Joan (who stars in Fendi’s spring ads) as the beauty channels Snow White, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty while Michael plays a handsome Prince Charming.

Lee Daniels could have done more. The idea was excellent. I love Michael B. Jordan. However, you couldn’t tell what was going on for most of the picture and it was hard to see the clothing.
I also wanted to say, that it did have some very wonderful, interesting elements that just didn’t come all the way out like they should have. For some reason I want to set these pictures to Calloway’s interpretation of St. James Infirmary. I don’t know, if I could give the pics a soundtrack. That song would be it.
