Gucci’s pre-fall 2011 collection is all about rise and peaks of seventies fashion. Starting off with subtle sophistication, the collection quickly transitions into full on va-va-voom glamour complete with shaggy fur and belted looks of elegant ease.
The pre-fall 2011 collection from Alexander McQueen has us standing at attention with its military inspired pieces perfect for the battlefied that is fashion. McQueen designer Sarah Burton stayed with a restrained color palette of navy, black and red hues along with metal details which we also saw in the spring season. Luxe jackets and tailored bottoms were accompanied by above the knee dresses, offsetting the masculine influence with a feminine edge.
Versace steps into pre-fall 2011 with a collection of retro colors and patterns. Worn by Kasia Struss, the latest wears to come out of the Italian fashion house are more sleek than sexy, but it turns out change is good. Valentino offers a ruffle filled sequel to its spring line for pre-fall 2011. Worn by Caroline Brasch Nielsen who also starred in the label’s recent spring campaign, the collection features a floor length gowns and flirty skirts for the autumn season. Along with lace work and even a touch of animal print, the Valentino woman is emboldened for pre-fall.
Catching on to the looks by number trend, Louis Vuitton’s pre-fall 2011 collection is a story of dark retro glamour featuring a bevy of coats, scarves and a dark color palette of burgundy, navy and camel. With unusual accessories such as visors and garments which cover the face, the Louis Vuitton woman is anything but boring for the pre-fall season.
