Kate Talks Style–Last week, Harper’s Bazaar US unveiled its May cover starring supermodel Kate Moss. And now the publication has now released some quotes and images from the Terry Richardson snapped feature where Moss talks about her upcoming line with Topshop, her style inspiration, getting older and more. You love to wear your Topshop looks. What would you do if you ran into another girl wearing your outfit?
“I love seeing other people wearing the clothes! I remember seeing a gorgeous girl wearing one of the floral tea dresses from the first collection—she looked great. I was so excited that I called her over and we had a picture taken together.”
Bazaar Beauty–As global fashion director of Harper’s Bazaar, Carine Roitfeld has worked with Karl Lagerfeld, A-list celebrities and the greatest models. For the first time, the French stylist creates a beauty feature for the publication’s May issue (see the cover with Kate Moss). A diverse cast featuring plus size model Ashley Graham, Carolyn Murphy, Ashleigh Good, Nadja Bender, Riley Montana and more highlights the spring collections as well as colorful makeup looks. Johnny Dufort photographed the shoot with creative direction by Stephen Gan. See a preview of the spread below or go on HarpersBazaar.com for more.
Kate on Bazaar–Fresh off the heels of her Vogue UK cover released earlier today, Kate Moss lands another with the May issue of Harper’s Bazaar US. The supermodel stars on “The Beauty Issue” photographed by longtime friend Terry Richardson. This marks Bazaar’s third model cover for the year (see our roundup of models on US magazine covers). Inside the issue, Kate will talk about new Topshop collaboration which is set to hit stores on April 30th.
Couture’s Flights of Fancy–Model Lindsey Wixson and fashion giant Karl Lagerfeld team up once again after Chanel’s spring 2014 ads for the April issue of Harper’s Bazaar US. The American beauty poses for the German creative in a haute couture editorial which channels Marie Antoinette style with powdered wigs and pink cheeks. Stylist Amanda Harlech selected looks from the couture houses of Giambattista Valli, Giorgio Armani and Dior amongst others for the whimsical shoot.
Mum’s the Word–Supermodel Stephanie Seymour and her sons, Peter Brant Jr. and Harry Brant, pose together for the March issue of Harper’s Bazaar US. While the Brant brothers are known for their street style, we think Stephanie (who can also be seen in the recent Katie Grand Loves Hogan lookbook) is the center of attention for this shoot wearing standout looks in all black from the likes of Versace, Dolce & Gabbana and Tom Ford styled by Joanna Hillman and photographed by Sebastian Faena. / Set design by Jesse Kaufmann @ Frank Reps
Gaga on Bazaar–Pop star Lady Gaga lands on the March cover of Harper’s Bazaar US, wearing a look from Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane. The singer and face of Versace poses for long time collaborator Terry Richardson for the cover story. Inside the new issue, Gaga opens up about her legacy, issues with food and depression. March’s Bazaar hits stores in the US on February 18th.
On how she thinks people in the future will think about fashion now:
LG: I’m not sure. I imagine that there will be a revival of some of these aesthetics—the more bold ones. Those who have watered down themselves for “sale” might make money now, but they are shortchanging their legend. I always think to myself, How do I want
to be remembered? I don’t want to be remembered as anything but brave. The only good intention to make money is to help others. I want to be Oprah. I want to be Melinda Gates. If I ever sell products other than my talents, then it will be to give more to others.
Carine’s Edit–Following up the Bazaar UK cover with Rosie, Harper’s Bazaar has released its spring collections story made with the creative of their global creative director Carine Roitfeld and photographed by Karl Lagerfeld. Top models including Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Naomi Campbell and Karolina Kurkova grace the magazine’s pages wearing eclectic looks from the likes of Celine, Giorgio Armani, Marc Jacobs and Ralph Lauren. See a preview of the shoot below or click over on HarpersBazaar.com for more.
Daria on Bazaar – Canadian top model Daria Werbowy graces the February cover story from Harper’s Bazaar US. Daria sports the hottest spring looks in the feature lensed by Daniel Jackson and styled by Alastair McKimm. The new face of Mango opens to the magazine about turning thirty, taking a break from modeling and how she stays in shape. Check out more images and quotes from Daria below and see the full feature on HarpersBazaar.com.
On turning 30 recently:
“I actually felt something shift,” she says. “I was so relieved. I was like, I can do and say and be whatever I want now—because I’m 30. There was a lot of surrendering.”
Kate on Bazaar – Actress Kate Hudson is the latest cover star of Harper’s Bazaar US, appearing on the magazine’s December-January issue. In the main editorial photographed by Alexi Lubomirski, the blonde star wears dazzling spring looks from the likes of Givenchy, Tom Ford, Alexander McQueen and Fendi. Despite wearing all these glamorous designs, Kate tells the magazine that she doesn’t buy that much high end clothing. “People think we own all these dresses,” she says, “but we borrow them! I can’t afford to buy that stuff. There are certain things I splurge on, but it’s very rare, especially when you have two kids and school tuition. I’m not a big high-end fashion shopper. I wish I could but the truth is things are just so expensive.”
