Hermès’ Spring Cover-up – For spring 2012, Hermès designer Christophe Lemaire provided cover-up for the hotter months with loose-fitting silhouettes, lightweight separates and arm-baring tops. A definite change from Jean Paul Gaultier’s vision for the luxury brand, Lemaire dressed the Hermès woman in billowing gowns and drapey pants. Color came in the form of electric blue, deep mauve and citrus orange.

  1. With such baggy clothes, why not use “normal-sized” girls instead of stick figures?

P.S.  I LOVE all of the Asian models in this show!  They are gorgeous!

  3. I actually think Christophe has been able to carve out a place for himself, despite designing after Gaultier.  He surely has his own aesthetic that is very different from the Hermes we’ve seen before and while it’s not the best show of the month, he is at the very least adept at using color.

  4. Interspersed between the Mormon burkas there are some lovely deep citrus ensembles, and then finally some elegantly hung dresses (on the third page)–that almost don’t look like belong to the collection. My impressions are disjointed—but then again, so is this collection.

  5. The white pieces need to either be different colours or have the white headscarves removed, because it looks pretty missionaries daughter.
