Catherine McNeil’s reign over the September issue of Vogue Australia isn’t quite over yet. And Although she is still sporting retro style, it seems that photographer Nicole Bentley (Work Agency) wanted to represented a softer more romantic side of the bygone decade with A Fine Romance. Within the story, Catherine wears an array of fifties silhouettes ranging from hoop skirts to scoop necks styled by Victoria Collison.

  1. beyond gorgeous!! I think this is the best editorial I have seen for fall yet. I was loving Marion Cottliard in Vogue but this tops it hands down. The hair and makeup are perfet – very sophia loren. I just love this classic revival.. I never liked thinking about fall when its 100 degrees outside but Louis Vuitton, Prada, and Nina Ricci have managed to change my mind.I hope people realize that tea length full skirts, ruffles, lace, and silk can do just as much for a woman as slinky dresses and try on these styles more.. it would be so refreshing to see these worn by women. By the way I love your site- I visit everyday but never leave a comment – this was just too gorgeous to not leave a comment. I think we all apppreciate all your work in posting these.

  3. I love her hair so incredibly much! The styling in this editorial is so classic – I'm very partial to the old silhouettes embellished with these more modern textures and patterns. Flawless!

    • …. stop watching tv and read a book , and as far as the artistic direction of that show and the clothes you would be wrong.

  5. I'm disappointed. Don't like the styling and poses are mehh… a bit boring. That grimace she has in a couple of the photos isn't pretty either.
She reminds me of VB in some of them – maybe b/c of her long neck. Last photo is my favorite.
