these looks like some chanel stuff.
please elaborate on atleast ONE aspect of Chanel present, and dont say tweed, tweed doesn’t belong to Chanel.
ohh burn

i can see where the tweed skirt and jacket combo is similar to Chanel…but how its designed is far more eccentric and bold than Chanel’s style.

Some of this is really disappointing. Some of it is gorgeous and true to the brand. But for me, it was only the last 3/4 of the collection that saved it at all, which is sad. Maybe my standards are just way too high since it’s MCQUEEN and I’m so used to having it blow my mind every time?
When they asked Thomas Jefferson whether he was to replace Benjamin Franklin as minister to France, he replied, “I succeed him, sir. No one can replace him.”
Nice reply, JJovana3. There are some truly great pieces here, but I guess people just miss McQueen’s designs. Who can blame them? 🙂

Its perfection. She found voice of her own in the McQueen brand while keeping his aesthetic alive. Its romance, nightmare, fairytale, perversion all in one, with touch of Burton femininity. McQueen would be so proud.
I can see McQueen’s signature in this collection but with Sarah’s own interpretation. It is softer that what Lee always made but nevertheless it is McQueen. Reminds me of the Asylum collection in 2001… just my thoughts..

the corset dresses are amazing
the corset dresses are amazing
It’s just not sexy. In fact many of the outfits are positively matronly. Where’s the attitude, the showmanship and the sex appeal?
This doesn’t ‘feel’ like a McQueen collection, even though there was obviously an effort made to reference/mimic his style.

When was McQueen ever a “sexy” brand????
The beginning gave me a slight ounce of fear as inklings of Uncle Karls hideous Chanel fall 2011 collection came through, however by page 3 and 4… Those dresses prove that Sarah Burton is amazing and doing a great job at continuing Alexanders legacy as a fashion forward thinker; going way beyond all those designers who continually give us 50’s, 60’s, 70’s ‘inspired’ or ‘themed’ collections instead of looking into the future and providing our generation with a new, defining style of it’s own.

I can see Mcqueen in every single look, Sarah is doing such a great job. Love the details and trims, absolutely fabulous. Gorgeous fur coats.

I think it totally follows McQueen´s style but from a softer more feminine way. I agree with everything JJovana3 says, why do you keep comparing Sarah to Lee? She is not him, she´s just her succesor, and I think she´s doing a killer job. I love how intricate, full of detail and romantic the pieces are. Go Sarah!

I think that the presentation is odd…. it makes you think that the pieces are ugly, but to me it is only when you take them out of the hair and make up and the whole styling that it stikes you that these pieces are actually stuning… it is the styling that doesn’t work here, that hair takes so much from it, it should´ve been softer or less knight-like…and the combination with the shoes also doesn´t work for me, they could´ve done a better job
The second part is a-ma-zing, I think sarah is doing a really great job, it isn’t very easy to replace someone genious like McQueen.
in general, i agree with JJovana3…
it’s a great collection. i personally liked last season better for some reason, but this is still amazing.

I love that it’s heavily feminine and wearable. Something that only comes with woman designer and still very McQueen.

Yes, McQueen is gone, everyone know that. But Sarah grow up in her own way and it’s beautiful.
Amazing, the white dresses blow my mind, I can’t even describe the feminity, the opulence yet simplicity of this collection looooove it!
