As you may know by now, pop star Madonna was tapped as the face of Versace’s spring-summer 2015 campaign. The black and white images were captured by Mert & Marcus and feature the icon showing off her toned arms and abs. According to designer Donatella Versace via The Cut, her body was not photoshopped. “She did not have her abdomen or arms retouched,” Donatella stated.

She also talked about what direction Madonna was given during the shoot. “I told her: You don’t have to be only sexy. I want you like I know you: a vulnerable person who is afraid, who suffers from loneliness and yet is strong, determined, and fearless. In these photos, she is.”
