Knockoff Chic – Following up a preview of the collection last week, we have a look at the lookbook for rapper M.I.A.’s Versus Versace collaboration. Inspired by the bootlegs of the Italian label she saw while growing up in London, M.I.A. worked with Versace to create a street style inspired line of graphic prints. Gold medallions, the Greek key and the Versace logo are all blown up for a colorful fall outing. The 19-piece collection is available now.
Versace Rebellion – Collaborating with Versace’s Verus line, musician M.I.A. created a 19-piece capsule collection set to hits stores on October 16th. Inspired by the bootleg Versace merchandise M.I.A. found on the streets of London as a teenager, the collection is meant to be seasonless for a youthful audience. “It’s always been part of the M.I.A. culture – to talk about bootlegs, and people that sell them or make them. When I was approached by Versace, it seemed like a good idea to take that and reverse the cycle. Versace designs have always been bootlegged, now it’s Versace bootlegging the bootleg for the bootleggers to bootleg the bootleg. This is to keep that cycle going.” says the musician.
Model Citizen – Doutzen Kroes looked stylish at the premiere of the HBO documentary, “Beyonce: Life is But A Dream” in New York on February 12th, 2013. The Victoria’s Secret Angel opted for a navy and strappy dress from Versus by Versace.
Versus Rock – Karlie Kloss rocks style with edge for the fall 2012 campaign from Versace’s Versus. The American model was photographed alongside male model Travis Smith by Daniele & Iango in neon hued designs with even bolder patterns and cuts.
