Vera Wang Fall 2014–Keeping in line with the season, Vera Wang’s fall-winter 2014 collection featured plenty of black and grey. There is something quite rock and roll about the clothing which is dominated by metallic accents, slim lines and boyish layering. Patterns of choice for autumn include plaid and almost watercolor florals paired with platform boots. Gowns have a romantically gothic touch with plenty of sheer fabric as well as cob-web like lace detailing.
Vera’s Sporty Spring – Vera Wang was in a sporty mood for her spring 2014 collection shown earlier today during New York Fashion Week. An outing of modified windbreakers and baseball jackets in black mesh and chiffon opened the show. Color was injected in light and airy silhouettes with shades of yellow, red and sapphire blue. Wang brought some glamour to her active woman with paillette adorned dresses in tones of grey, black and blue. For spring, the designer proved that an athletic inspiration does not have to mean a lack of femininity.
Enchanted Forest – Shu Pei is back once again for the fall 2013 advertisements from Vera Wang. The Chinese beauty stars in a series of dark and romantic images shot by Carter Smith made with creative direction by MODCo Creative. Shu models the designer’s bridal, ready-to-wear, Simply Vera and Black by Vera Wang collections in an enchanted forest.
New Fragrance – Vera Wang’s Be Jeweled fragrance is introduced in a new film starring model, former ballet dancer and face of the scent, Laura Love. The video captures Laura in New York City catching a cab, window shopping and dancing. The feminine and independent spirit of the Be Jeweled woman can be seen in Laura. Going Green – Shu Pei returns for another season as the face of Vera Wang’s spring 2013 campaign. This time, the Chinese beauty is joined by male model David Chiang in a series of romantic images photographed against an ultra-green and lush forest backdrop. Shu Pei looks gorgeous in the designer’s bridal, ready-to-wear, accessory and Simply Vera Wang collections.
Slip into Fall – For fall 2012, Vera Wang embraced slinky silhouettes in autumn hues of wheat, marmalade, blue and ink black. The new season offered lightweight layers with a sensual, skin baring appeal in the form of sheer fabrics. As for outerwear, the coats presented were fur-embellished with geometric prints for an androgynous contrast. For the finale, Wang matched crystal-adorned bodices with airy fabric for an almost bohemian effect.
A Romantic Spring – Shu Pei returns as the face of Vera Wang for the third consecutive season with the label’s spring 2012 campaign. Captured by Carter Smith, Shu Pei sports a wardrobe of floral prints, dramatic gowns and sheer dresses in the romantic images.
Wang’s Feminine Mystique – Vera Wang kept her color palette light for her spring 2012 collection with sleek silhouettes that didn’t stray away from Wang’s well-known feminine aesthetic. Spring was a story of the hard and soft, with stiff shapes softened by romantic drapes and lightweight sheer materials. Prints came in the form of watercolor swirls adding contrast to mostly monotone ensembles.
Lovestruck – Leighton Meester stars in a print and film campaign Vera Wang’s “Lovestruck” fragrance lensed by Carter Smith. With creative direction by Trey Laird, Leighton catches a handsome admirer’s eye in a flower shaped gown matching the bottle design. (WWD)
Vera Wang layered heavy jackets with airy pleated chiffon dresses for her fall 2011 showing. Featuring a color scheme of mostly muted neutral hues, the sheer theme repeated itself throughout the entire presentation with experimentation being found in length and proportion. There was also a certain rock and roll undertone to the show as the models donned leather gloves and boots, bringing an undeniable edge to the feminine garments.
