Rykiel Girls – The fall 2012 campaign from Sonia Rykiel once again enlists photographer Cédric Buchet to capture Parisian chic images on the streets of France. For the autumn season, models Anais Pouliot and Caroline Brasch Nielsen sport lush curls and jewel tone eye shadow to complement Rykiel’s luxe knits and menswear inspired cuts.
Keeping it Simple – Sonia Rykiel creative director April Crichton created a pared down showing of sophisticated knitwear and suiting for the label’s fall 2012 collection presented during Paris Fashion Week. Using a muted color palette of pewter, ash grey, black and sherbet, the Rykiel woman embraces mix and match separates for the new season with a modern edge. Asymmetrical hemlines, thin belts and cropped jackets all dominated the runway as models sported slick hair matched with headbands. A finale of mostly sheer black ensembles brought a sense of dark romanticism to the practical collection.

Rykiel’s Yellow Road – Known for fun, flirty shapes, the spring 2012 collection from Sonia Rykiel did not disappoint with feminine dresses and jumpsuits inspired by the 1920s and 1970s. Models walked down the chalk yellow runway in a joyful palette of ivory, canary and marmalade. Prints came in the form of floral motifs and stripes which accentuated pleat details and peekaboo cut-outs. Beauty for the show included soft curls paired with a nude lip for an uninhibited display of Parisian chic.

Sonia Rykiel’s fall 2011 runway show had an unconventional set-up as models stood by fences, talked with one another and even took a rest on a bench for a casual change of pace. As for the clothing–Rykiel’s signature knits were on full display as well as quirky outerwear which came in the form of bubble gum pink and canary yellow fur boas. Color blocking, stripes and plaids also made an appearance on the catwalk.
