A New Fall – For his namesake label’s fall-winter 2013 collection, Vietnamese designer Phuong My cites Asian woman as inspiration for his latest outing. The new collection focuses on the feminine form with structural silhouettes placing an emphasis on the waist and hips. Silk makes an appearance in the season’s designs with a mix of wool silk, silk lace, opaque organza and silk net. Fashionable in Fur – Lina Zhang plays the part of a modern woman rediscovering her ancient roots in Elle Vietnam’s “Wild at Heart” October 2013 cover story. Stockton Johnson snapped the Chinese beauty in the historic Vietnamese town of Da Nang. Stylist Phuong My dressed Lina in bold fur apparel from esteemed fashion houses including Valentino, Gucci, and Salvatore Ferragamo amongst others. Hair stylist and makeup artist Kevin Long continued the fur theme with Lina’s dramatic ‘do.
Sunkissed – For the July 2013 edition of Elle Vietnam, photographer Stockton Johnson shoots fashion model Lina Zhang amidst a sultry sand and sea backdrop. Styled by Phuong My, makeup and hair stylist Kevin Long creates beachy tresses and gold glimmering eye lids and lips for the Chinese stunner to wear.
Phuong My Spring – Vietnamese-born designer Phuong My presents a range of sixteen dresses for her spring-summer 2013 collection. Phuong is inspired by Asian art and western style as shown by the collection’s focus on shape and detail. This season’s creations include hand-beaded work, all using Swarovski crystals on materials such as silk organza, netting and lace. Phuong’s color palette is earthy with dusky tan, grey and bronze hues as well as deep charcoals for the elegant creations.
Lost Heaven – Photographer Stockton Johnson works with stylist Phuong My to capture the beauty and mystery of feminine fashion in this stunning shoot for the October cover shoot of Elle Vietnam. Model Miao Bin Si straddles tradition and designer elegance in structured and ethereal looks topped by strongly sculpted make-up and raven tresses by Kevin Long and Charlie Taylor. Nature and Eastern architecture serve as a stunning backdrop for the perfect marriage between simple beauty and spirit raising style.
Nothing But Flowers – Actress Ngo Thanh Van celebrates the one year anniversary of Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam with photographer Zhang Jingna, and a spectacular set of beautiful blooms. Gold Accent – The May issue of Elle Vietnam taps photographer Zhang Jingna for a beauty story focused on gold jewelry. Styled by Phuong My, Maya wears shimmering metals and little else in the studio images. High Glamour – The December issue of Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam highlights opulent gowns with Rony Shram’s rooftop images starring Mackenzie Hamilton.
