Givenchy’s spring 2011 campaign goes black and white with its leopard print western inspired looks taking on a ghostly influence lensed by Mert and Marcus. Starring Mariacarla Boscono, Natasha Poly, Daphne Groenveld and Iris Strubegger, the haunting images place focus on it’s sheer materials and dynamic prints.
Iris Strubegger is a cross between 80s pop star and circus diva for the January issue of Vogue Russia. Lensed by François Nars, Iris wears a bold and loud wardrobe featuring the work of Balmain, Valentino, Louis Vuitton and more pieced together by fashion editor Patti Wilson.
A subdued color palette of ambers and greys made way for the impeccably tailored haute couture collection from Armani Privé. The side swept hairdo which models donned as they strolled down the runway, topped off a look of complete and utter sophistication. For the final part of the show, bejeweled dresses in rich tones of gold and amber brought some glitz and glamour to the stage.
Givenchy’s fall haute couture collection garnered a more intimate gathering this season with a special presentation consisting of ten looks with ten models. Riccardo Tisci, the label’s creative director, said of the change, “I want to make couture even more special than it is, and not just another catwalk show.” Gone are the black ensembles and dramatic makeup which are replaced with neutral shades and ornate details of lace and fringe. Topping off the look are sleek silhouettes and tailored jackets.
With emphasis on tailored and elegant wear, the Trussardi 1911 campaign for the fall stars Iris Strubegger as an androgynous dame. Playing the dual role of stylist and photographer, the label’s creative director Milan Vukmirovic gives an alternative view of the collection with street smart ensembles on the left and dinner ready ensembles on the right.
DSquared2′s fall 2010 campaign goes the artistic route with it’s models being put on display in a musuem-like setting. Starring Iris Strubegger, Chanel Iman and Alla Kostromicheva captured by Mert & Marcus, the images give a slight edge to Canadian designers’ flamboyant pieces.
