In the cover controversy that has even included talks of boycott, Vogue’s creative director Grace Coddington revealed that the Kim Kardashian and Kanye West cover was in fact her idea. In an interview with the Financial Times, Grace explained that editor-in-chief Anna Wintour wanted to do a wedding story with Kimye lookalikes. Coddington then suggested that they get the real thing for the cover, and the rest is history as they say. As to what makes Kim and Kanye so interesting, Grace reveals, “I do think Kim Kardashian represents this moment in our culture. I’m fascinated by her, in the same way I’m fascinated by the people I see on the street or the subway.” Grace also shared that she was “upset” about their baby North West not making the cover.
