  1. this is very different, i like it!
i also appreciate how much effort must have gone into constructing the flower ensembles

  2. Original? Have a look at the story shot by Sofia Sanchez and Mauro Mongiello in Numero #93 (May 2008), exactly 3 years ago – ‘Sortilege’ http://vivelechic.livejournal.com/63594.html

In other industries, this is called plagiarism (via Wikipedia defined as: “wrongful appropriation,” “close imitation,” or “purloining and publication” of another author’s “language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions,” and the representation of them as one’s own original work”

    • But can’t two different photographers work off of the same idea? It’s spring and flowers are a common theme, surely the idea of using flowers on the body literally in a photo shoot can be used more than just once?

  3. I really love it…but yeah…it does appear to be a bit of a rip on the Sofia & Mauro story…
Theirs was way more tribal and edgy though (and even BETTER)

  9. I don’t know about the plagiarism allegations; I think the Numero story itself was a rip-off of Hans Silvester’s Natural Beauty: Tribal Decoration from Africa (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0500288054/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=0500543585&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=101BATYMS9FGS8Q8W5G6), while the NYTSM story is actually really cool and reminiscent of all those fruit/vegetable paintings by Arcimboldo
