Baadarani Takes Flight – British designer Sarah Baadarani follows up her previous collection with a fall 2013 outing inspired the concept of birds and freedom. The result was a collection of slim shapes and layered looks which introduce new textures. Luxe materials of lace, layered fur and calf skin are draped to emulate the look of wings while dresses are cinched at the waist and drop to the floor. Baadarani also experiments with coated lace and PVC for a surrealistic look.

  1. Another score for the UK with these creations from Ms. Baadarani. The designs coming from that side of the pond are starting to put New York to shame. Especially since London has fewer days during their fashion weeks and fewer designers compared to the hundreds that presented collected in NY for Fall 2013 before, during and after NYFW.

  2. I can see why you would say Roland Mouret, but I believe Ms Baadarani has a fresher perspective. Feels like a lazy comparison to me…
