Sweet Youth – For fall 2012, Paule Ka designer Serge Cajfinger was inspired by the gilded youth of 1960’s London with a collection of demure garments that mix a teenager’s wardrobe with pieces stolen from her mother’s closet. A muted color palette of neutral hues juxtaposed against pastel brights set the stage for sportswear influenced ensembles. Oversize knit sweaters, modest hemlines and faux fur dominate the new season in a mix of “poor and rich” fabrics. The sweetness of youth is given a flirty edge with leg baring slits and sheer materials. This season’s popular trend of jewel-adorned accessories also made an appearance in the form of basket shaped handbags. Playing with youth and maturity, Cajfinger gives a smart collection with a retro tinge for the upcoming autumn.
