It has been a little more than a year since Peter Copping was named creative director at Oscar de la Renta, and with the brand’s fall-winter 2016 outing, the designer looked to 18th century silhouettes for inspiration. A ladylike fit and flare shape was embraced, sometimes with looks featuring fur adorned collars and other times with knit sweaters paired with leather skirts. As the show progressed, Copping embellished looks with gold jacquard and sparkling embroideries. Gowns are made of silk taffeta, structured at the top with fitted bodices and finished with voluminous skirts, sure to make an entrance.
