After last season’s Marilyn Monroe inspired collection, Max Mara’s spring-summer 2016 runway show took a nautical turn filled with sailor stripes, playful stars and plenty of tailoring. The silhouette of the season was loose and slouchy with skirts and pants sitting high on the waist while embellished with decorative buttons. More casual looks called for shrunken sweaters and tees illustrated with boats and lighthouses drawn by Brian Grimwood. Outerwear, which Max Mara is known for, was no disappointment. Long, sometimes oversized trenches, would be a good fit on or off the sea.
