Marc Jacobs Spring 2011 | New York Fashion Week

Marc Jacobs Spring 2011 | New York Fashion Week

The seventies are alive and well in Marc Jacobs’ spring 2011 collection. Complete with wide leg pants, fluffy hair and oversize sun hats, the American designer’s latest outing featured nontraditional colors of deep lavender, camel and even black. Despite the dark palette, femininity still took center stage with flirty silhouettes, floral motifs and sheer tops that brought a sense of luxe glam to the catwalk.

      doesn’t really convince me
the colours are nice and I like the inspiration sources, I feel it could have been better, the clothes are quite unflattering at the end
I want something better for LV, marc!

Jodie Foster from Taxi Driver must have been his muse. This is not his best, but its the best we’ve seen so far. I was getting sick of all nude and white. This collection and the color palette is refreshing. Thank you Marc! 🙂

Gorgeous, utterly gorgeous. Can’t wait to get my hands on several of the pieces. However, the models looked like transvestites, I don’t know what the makeup&hair team was thinking.

This collection reminds me of Catherine Baba in the styling…. I really like it.. it is not somthing you see every day… It’s very stong and femenin—- btw: if you see the hole runway looks, some models look death (that’s not right at all)

Quite literal, no? It is what it is – and it’s not very subtle. Still, the casting is quite good, and the styling is not bad, either.
And I guess the girls at LV will be “crying at the discoteque”.
