Couture Complexities – Worn by models with obscured faces, the fall 2011 couture collection from Maison Martin Margiela features a transformation of vintage silhouettes with hand-made tailoring and unusual materials. Spontaneous jackets and blazers made from camel hair, PVC, duck tape and cashmere are paired with transparent bottoms for a futuristic autumn.

    this is so great and outside the box. So happy to see something different and obscure yet I can still totally see the wearability of pieces especially in the moto jackets and skirts on riskier red carpet goers.
    loved the idea of the obscured faces – I think it makes a statement about the clothes and not the people wearing them (which, in my opinion, is what it should be about)

  2. It’s not just the mask it is the footwear. The combination is meant to draw your eyes to the clothing and not the model. Good idea but I think it missed the mark. Having said that I actually like the line. I really would have liked to see the one outfit without the tape. A for effort C- for the result.
