Fashion meets film for Ridley Scott’s House of Gucci, which features a star-studded cast, including lead Lady Gaga as Patrizia Reggiani. According to the official synopsis, the drama “is inspired by the shocking true story of the family empire behind the Italian fashion house of Gucci. Spanning three decades of love, betrayal, decadence, revenge, and ultimately murder, we see what a name means, what it’s worth, and how far a family will go for control.”
The film covers the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, and costume designer Janty Yates selected vintage looks from the Gucci archives, Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, and more. Trailer and promotional images show fabulous looks, including a white wedding dress, fur hat, and monogram Gucci prints.
As with fashion, hair is appropriate for the time as well. Lady Gaga, as Reggiani, wears big, teased dark hair for many of the film’s looks. For luxury jewelry, Yates used Tudor (who the star is also an ambassador for), Bulgari, Boucheron, and Gucci for many dazzling pieces.
