Touch the Sky – New York skyscrapers serve as the backdrop–quite literally–to iCB’s spring 2011 campaign starring Karlie Kloss. Photographed by Ryan McGinley with art direction by Doug Lloyd, the images take the clothing’s bold stripes and colors to new heights.

  1. so random for ryan. i love karlie and the concept, but i think another photographer could have done a much stronger version.

  2. lame idea for an ad, badly executed – ryan obviously did this one for the money, which degrades his more personal work

    • This doesn’t degrade his work at all Adrian , it just proves that without commerce there would be no art. The expectation that a photographer will only ever garner income through one avenue of image creation is somewhat naive, even in the case of Mr McGinley. If you look back over time you’ll notice the theme of artists accepting commercial commissions is critical to the continuation of the arts . Because artists need to eat.
