Moving away from a normally minimal aesthetic, Jil Sander lengthens and widens its silhouette for spring 2011. Finding inspiration in fitted tops paired with billowing bottoms, creative director Raf Simons also plays with color, contrasting and blocking brights with darker hues. Also included were stripe prints and floral patterns. Despite this move in a seemingly new direction, the Sander woman still maintains her sleek and clean look for the time being.

  1. I’m not sure what to think… I’m liking some of the silhouettes, they show a fresher Jil Sander, but some of the cuts are extremely unflattering! Kasia’s flower bloom, for example…If a tall and skinny model looks like that, wonder how a regular woman would… Just sayin’…

  2. I kind of like these pieces (in theory), but I have no idea how ANYONE would wear them. The tent dresses, for example. I’d probably only wear them if I had triplets in my tummy.

  3. I’m completely confused about how anyone is to wear some of the pieces, but at the same time this is one of my favorite collections of the season
