The Queen of Pop serves as inspiration for Jeremy Scott’s Spring 2011 collection and brings a sense of risque to New York Fashion Week. Alluding to Jean Paul Gaultier’s creations for Madonna in the nineties, the American designer puts his own bold and graphic twist for a contemporary leather and latex blowout.

  1. isn’t it suppossed to be vulgar to a degree? New York Pop? The underground pop clubs of New York are dirty and trashy. I think it’s a lot of fun. I also think it looks like he’s just aiming to get outfits featured in a Lady Gaga music video. I like the collection, but I just think it’s be done, it’s just a continuation of a Gaga’s Fame Monster era which is coming to an end.

  2. Yeah, it has. But why bring out more of the same? Sure, it works perfectly but to me it’s almost as if it’s just an attempt to cash in on the phenom that is Gaga. I just don’t think there has been a big enough step forward. I ask anyone, could you see this in a Gaga music video? It’s exactly her image (I know inspired by Madonna, 90’s, New York, Grunge pop etc etc But we’re in 2010 and Gaga is those influences in a tiny, slightly chubby, powerhouse package). I think this whole collection, while cool as ice cream on a winters night – is a smart business move aswell as his collection.
