Gucci’s Androgynous Spring – Gucci was inspired by the early twentieth century art-deco era for its spring 2012 collection shown during the first day of major shows for Milan Fashion Week. For the new season, the Gucci woman looks ready for a cruise with sharp blazers, tailored pants, animal prints and cut-out bathing suits. Feminine yet androgynous, Gucci creative director Frida Giannini stuck to a dark color palette of black and white with metallic accents.

  1. Frida Giannini is a such Talent ,i loved the last collection Spring 2011 ,the colour blocking was amazing ,but this collection i think is too dark ,always black and i guess she repetead herself a lot ,with a lot of dresses in the same colours … Pretty but not amazing.

  2. Absolutely loved this collection, something different from last years’ colour blocking, but yet not too dark. Perfect cut and embellishments.

  3. I enjoy the flapper-esque dresses, but for the most part this is nothing exciting.  Frida confuses me, in many seasons past she is unable to deliver designs that are anything beyond what is expected or what has already been done.  Yet every now and then she presents something wild and exhilarating (spring and fall 2011, in my opinion), I wish she could sustain the talent that she has somewhere.

  4. I think sometimes designers forget what season they are designing for.  Overall, this looks more like a fall collection to me than a spring collection.
