British singer Ellie Goulding reveals how she stays in shape for the the November 2015 issue of Marie Claire US. The 28-year-old talks to the magazine about how boxing has helped her feel empowered and even keep her stamina on stage.
Goulding, who will perform at the 2015 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show later this month, tells Marie Claire, “Boxing is very animalistic, and there’s a lot of adrenaline in it. It has helped my stamina. When I’m onstage, I feel like I could go on forever.” She continues, “Without wanting to use that clichéd word, I feel empowered. I’ve got the power to defend myself. It’s a great feeling to know that you don’t have to have a bloke around to protect you.”
But just because she is a fan of boxing, it does not mean that Ellie is going professional anytime soon. “I’ve been told I should spar and train for real because I seem to have a bit of a talent for it—but I’d rather go on tour with my face intact!”
