Prada Brings Retro Shapes to Spring 2019

Joanna Elizabeth / Published September 21, 2018

For Prada’s spring-summer 2019 show, Miuccia Prada focused on simple and streamlined silhouettes with dramatic color combinations and prints. Bermuda shorts, sleeveless tops with plunging necklines and dresses with A-line shapes took over the spring season. The silhouette evoked a retro vibe ranging from the swinging 60’s to the 90’s.

Outerwear included lightweight jackets and coats, sometimes decorated with abstract scenes. The Prada woman remains ladylike yet girly with large headbands, bow accents as well as knee-high hosiery. Handbags remained sleek with curves and studded details while footwear ranged from kitten heels to sporty flats.
