Dior designer Maria Grazia Chiuri found inspiration in the work of art historian Linda Nochlin for spring-summer 2018. The French brand’s collection opened with a sweater featuring the line: Why Have There Been No Great Women Artists? That is the title of Nochhlin’s 1971 essay which delved into why women are not more celebrated in the art world. This collection offered an eclectic view on feminine style. From patchwork denim to embroidered sweaters and see-through skirts; the Dior woman’s wardrobe knows no boundaries. For evening wear, Chiuri turned up the shine factor with sequin embellished bustiers and shift dresses paired with sheer pleating.
