Have you ever been to a land-based casino in Canada? If not, you should consider Casino de Montreal. It is the largest casino in Canada, where all the betting magic happens. Casino de Montreal receives players from all over the world. Located on the Norte Dame Island in Montreal, Quebec, the casino was opened in 1993. The whole resort is owned by Société des casinos du Quebec.

Casino de Montreal is a combination of three different but interconnected buildings. The first two, the Quebec Pavilion and the French Pavilion were initially built for Expo 67. The third building was created by the casino. This casino is best known for its restaurants, huge gaming areas, and original features that you cannot see on any other building. It has numerous windows that spread across the entire region, and the low ceilings make its features even more prominent. All these features make the casino more unique than any other in the area.

What Makes Casino de Montreal Stand Out?

Apart from the fantastic architecture of this casino, it has numerous other features that make it unique. For example, Casino de Montreal is a no-smoking area. This is unusual since most casinos allow players to smoke while placing their bets.

It has been a non-smoking casino since 2003. Initially, the casino had designated some areas for smokers where they could relax and enjoy smoking their cigarettes. However, once the law was passed in 2006, the casino closed down all its smoking lounges.

When it comes to alcohol, players can only drink at designated bar areas. Also, unlike casinos in Las Vegas and other places, Casino de Montreal has windows and clocks. You can, therefore, know what time it is and decide whether you want to continue playing or stop and head home. Smoking or vaping of marijuana inside or outside Casino de Montreal is also prohibited. You also cannot bring along alcohol, weapons, or drugs to the casino.

Do you prefer heading to the casino with your friends? Casino de Montreal has an area known as the Zone, which is an amped-up area with immersive gaming space for all players regardless of their gaming experience. There, you can play any of their 80 interactive terminals as you watch your scores flash up on their giant screens and have a fantastic time with their lovely hosts.

Casino de Montreal Dress Code

If you are wondering what the Casino de Montreal dress code is, don’t worry, as we have all the information for you. As with any other betting establishment, Casino de Montreal has its dress code.

Players have to come dressed in a formal dress code, and you may be turned away if you show up wearing jeans and a t-shirt. The casino also doesn’t permit these clothing items within the betting area, bars, or any of their restaurants.

  • Corset
  • Camisoles
  • Tops showing your stomach
  • Baseball or other sports caps
  • Hoodies
  • Bermudas
  • Leggings
  • Shorts
  • Work boots
  • Beachwear
  • Motorcycle boots

Also, the casino doesn’t allow any clothing that depicts violence or is associated with a recognized violent group. Casino de Montreal reserves the right to refuse or restrict access to anyone who exhibits behavior deemed disturbing to others or the casino activities, including clothing with weird printings and wordings.

Consider sticking to the Casino de Montreal dress code if you wish to have a great time betting and not get turned away. You don’t want to be turned away at the door simply because your clothing items are deemed inappropriate.

What is Considered Formal/Business Casino Attire?

The Casino de Montreal business/formal dress code means wearing what you would wear to work or a white-collar job interview dress. For men, it means wearing smart suits and ties, while for women, they have to wear smart jackets over their blouses and smart work pants or pencil skirts. You have some freedom with colors, but you shouldn’t go wild. Women should also go light on accessories and jewelry.

Business Casual Dress Code

With business casual, players can come donned in what most people wear to the office-smart clothing without the formality of a suit or tie. You are free to dress down a bit but not too much. For men, you should wear smart trousers, and you can get away with choosing to wear a sweater instead of a jacket. Avoid wearing sneakers and t-shirts, and keep the colors neutral.

For women, go for sweaters, blouses, and smart skirts. You can choose more conservative shoes. While you can choose to wear heels, it is also allowed to go with closed-toe shoes. Remember to mute accessories and jewelry.

Why Casinos Have a Dress Code

You may be wondering why you need to follow the Casino de Montreal dress code. Casinos have dress codes for various reasons. Firstly, these establishments started out as exclusive places for high society who were expected to dress in a specific way. Although things have changed over the years, casinos still wish to retain their high reputations.

Casinos wish to set themselves apart from other underground betting dens, slot machine arcades, and other casual places. Also, visiting a casino should be more than just betting. It should offer you a pleasant experience similar to going to a nice restaurant or the theater.
